The Vraiqu’sie Choir extends the Vraiqu’sie project, bringing the film’s original soundtrack into live performance alongside new songs inspired by Jersey’s intertidal landscape. Sung entirely in Jèrriais, the choir explores connections between language, landscape, memory and community, continuing the project’s exploration of vraicking — Jersey’s traditional seaweed-gathering practice.

The choir will perform at La Folle d’Avoût (The Corn Riots Festival) on Saturday 19 September, 12–12.30pm in the Royal Square, St Helier.

The free two-day festival celebrates Jersey’s history, heritage and culture, with live music and performance throughout the weekend, alongside local food, drink and cultural activities. The Corn Riots is also a chance to celebrate Jersey’s native language, Jèrriais, with the programme featuring other Jèrriais performers including Mêli Mêlo and Badlabecques.
